Dr. Amit Kumar is currently President and CEO of CombiMatrix Corporation (CBMX:NASDAQ), a biotech company. Amit also he sits on the board of two other public companies, including Ascent Solar Technologies (ASTI:NASDAQ), a photovoltaics company. Amit is an active member of several advisory boards in the energy field, has invested in the industry, and is a frequent speaker and author on cleantech and energy issues

Amit has worked in both public and private enterprises in technical, business and general management roles. He has also worked as a venture capitalist with Oak Investment Partners and Acacia Research.

Amit holds an AB with honors in Chemistry from Occidental College. He received his Ph.D from the California Institute of Technology, where his research focused on solar energy conversion with Professor Nathan S. Lewis. Amit also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard University, working with Professor George M. Whitesides, where he invented atechnology known as soft lithography.
