Fernanda Gandara

Fernanda Gandara is Vice-President of Business Development at Synthetic Genomics, Inc (SGI), a privately held company founded in 2005, dedicated to developing and commercializing genomic-driven solutions to address global energy and environmental challenges, including: Renewable Fuels and Chemicals made directly from CO2 and sunlight; Jatropha as a dedicated Bioenergy crop; and Microbial solutions for Enhanced Hydrocarbon Recovery.
She joined SGI in August 2007, bringing business experience from a variety of industries and functional areas. Prior to SGI, Fernanda worked at BP (British Petroleum) in several areas including Technology Strategy and Venturing, where she structured and negotiated Bioenergy venturing deals. Before that, Fernanda worked in management consulting at BCG and Accenture.

Fernanda is native Brazilian; she earned a MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business in California and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Escola de Engenharia Maua in Brazil.
