Michael Schlehuber

Michael Schlehuber, CFA, CPA, is a Managing Partner with Summit Global Management, Inc. focused on strategic business development and private-market investments in both water assets and water companies. A trained hydrogeologist and experienced financial executive, Mr. Schlehuber previously developed water resources for sale to municipal water providers throughout the western United States as Chief Financial Officer of Vidler Water Company, a division of PICO Holdings (Nasdaq: PICO).

Over the past 12 years, Mike has made numerous private equity investments in both the water industry as well as other industries. Within the water industry, Mike has led the acquisition of more than 60,000 of acre-feet of permanent water rights and as well as the acquisition of hundreds of thousands of acre-feet of groundwater storage. Mike began his career in water as an employee of the Eastern Municipal Water District (a member agency of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California) where he conducted a hydrogeological study of the San Jacinto Basin in conjunction with his master’s thesis.

Outside the water industry, Mike has led the investment in a number of private companies, serving as Chief Operating Officer for three of those acquired companies. In that role, Mike oversaw a combined workforce in excess of 2,000 employees tasked with meeting the field based marketing initiatives of companies like Wal-Mart, Unilever, ConAgra, etc. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Advantage Sales and Marketing LLC’s Marketing Services Group, where he managed revenue growth from $17 million to $230 million during a six-year tenure.

Mike holds a BS in geology from the University of Notre Dame and an MS in geological sciences with a specialty in hydrogeology from the University of California, Riverside. He also earned an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, and holds both CFA and CPA designations. He currently serves on the Board of Advisors of the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at the University of California, Riverside.
