Brad Hines

CTO & Founder,
Soliant Energy

Brad Hines is CTO and Founder of Soliant Energy (www.soliant-energy.com), a startup company in Pasadena, California that is reducing the cost of solar electricity by developing solar panels that concentrate more sunlight onto smaller, more efficient solar cells.

Prior to Soliant Energy, Brad was Vice President of Engineering at Energy Innovations, another solar concentrator startup, and earlier was at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory for 14 years, where he was a Principal Engineer and Group Supervisor leading sizeable projects in astronomical optical interferometry.  In his last position at JPL, he served as Chief Architect for the $1B Space Interferometry Mission.

Brad graduated with a B.S. and M.S. from MIT in Electrical Engineering in 1986 and 1988.  His company's unique approach to solar concentrators is to deliver the cost advantages of a solar concentrator with the familiar installation practice of a traditional flat panel, removing barriers to adoption of this promising technology, while also delivering industry-best module efficiencies to the commercial rooftop.
