Brian Prusnek

Vice President,
Climate Change Capital

Brian Prusnek is a Vice President based in Climate Change Capital's (CCC) Washington office. Prior to CCC, Brian was appointed Governor Schwarzenegger's Deputy Cabinet Secretary in March, 2006.  In this role, he handled and advised on environmental, energy and resource issues in California. Most notably, he was involved in negotiating California's landmark Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, co-authoring the Governor's Low Carbon Fuel Standard, representing California in the Western Climate Initiative and launching the International Climate Action Partnership.  Previously, he worked at the California Public Utility Commission, serving as Chief of Staff to Commissioner Rachelle Chong and then-Commissioner Susan P. Kennedy, who now serves as the Governor's Chief of Staff.  During his tenure with Commissioner Kennedy, he oversaw the development and implementation of California's efforts to make energy efficiency the first resource utilities purchase before they turn to supply-side resources.
