Cindy Lin

Senior Environmental Scientist and Regional Liaison,
US EPA

Dr. Cindy Lin is a senior environmental scientist and the southern California Regional liaison for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.  She oversees the federal water pollution assessment program for the Los Angeles, Santa Ana, and San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Boards.  She ensures the federal Clean Water Act’s Total Maximum Daily Load program effectively assesses impaired waters and pollutants in our streams, lakes and beaches.   As a TMDL liaison, her top priority is to foster and build good working relationships with the State and stakeholders who have the tough job of implementing the best management practices to control pollution, meet water quality standards and provide sufficient water quantity.  Dr. Lin has worked with the USEPA for over 10 years and has focused on water issues in California, Hawai'i, Pacific Islands, and China.  She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology, Masters of Science in Environmental Chemistry at the School of Public Health and a doctorate in Environmental Science and Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
