Dr. Cindy
Lin is a senior environmental scientist and the southern California
Regional liaison for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
She oversees the federal water pollution assessment program for the Los
Angeles, Santa Ana, and San Diego Regional Water Quality Control
Boards. She ensures the federal Clean Water Act’s Total Maximum
Daily Load program effectively assesses impaired waters and pollutants
in our streams, lakes and beaches. As a TMDL liaison, her
top priority is to foster and build good working relationships with the
State and stakeholders who have the tough job of implementing the best
management practices to control pollution, meet water quality standards
and provide sufficient water quantity. Dr. Lin has worked with
the USEPA for over 10 years and has focused on water issues in
California, Hawai'i, Pacific Islands, and China. She received her
Bachelors of Science in Biology, Masters of Science in Environmental
Chemistry at the School of Public Health and a doctorate in
Environmental Science and Engineering from the University of
California, Los Angeles.
