William G. Halsey

Associate Program Leader,
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

William (Bill) G. Halsey leads the Fuel Cycle ‘Back-End’ and International Repository activities in the Fission Energy and Systems Safety Program at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. At LLNL, he has worked extensively on the engineered barrier system for the Yucca Mountain Project. He also worked for seven years in the Laser Fusion Program, as Group Leader for Target and Materials Characterization and Task Leader for experimental targets on the NOVA laser. Bill is currently involved in international collaborations with Russian Institutes in the area of fissile material disposition and repository studies and with Japanese Institutes in the area of repository studies.
