Ron Kent

Technology Development Project Manager,
Sempra Energy Utilities

Ron Kent is a Technology Development Project Manager for the Sempra Energy Utilities: Southern California Gas Company and San Diego Gas and Electric.  His current projects are quite varied and include zero emissions power plants that use high pressure oxy-fuel combustion; enhanced oil recovery with CO2 sequestration; biomass to energy; RF “electrodeless” lamps; and building system fault detection, diagnostics and optimization systems (FDDO).

In the course of over 25 years in the energy industry he has managed numerous innovative technology projects ranging from internet-based energy auction systems to natural gas vehicles and fuel cells. 

Prior to joining Sempra Energy he was a Peace Corp volunteer in the South Pacific.  He holds a B.S. degree in biological science from San Diego State University and an MBA from CalPoly, Pomona.
